Secondary stroke prevention deserves another look
Recurrent stroke statistics, while shocking, are likely familiar. But behind the numbers we know there are harsh, personal realities. We have collaborated with six actual stroke survivors to highlight their stories as a reminder that together, we need to continue to strive for better outcomes for patients.
Bayer is working towards tackling the high recurrence rates that leave your patients vulnerable to another stroke.

Stroke and TIA overview
Every 3 seconds someone, somewhere, suffers a stroke. But it’s not just about statistics – the impact of stroke extends far beyond the initial event.

Secondary stroke prevention guidelines
With 20–30% of all strokes being recurrent, stroke survivors are at high risk of a secondary event. As an HCP, what is your current prevention strategy?

Need for action
Challenges in secondary stroke prevention result in high rates of recurrence. How many of your patients are vulnerable to another stroke?

Stacie's story
She lost her identity – but came back stronger as “Stacie 2.0”. Discover how she turned her stroke into a story of resilience.
Unmet needs, unseen risks
Stroke is the second leading cause of death globally. For survivors, the impact on everyday life can be severe. Despite adherence to guideline recommendations for stroke prevention, a significant proportion of survivors experience another stroke.
The invisible made visible:
In collaboration with actual stroke survivors
Strokes impact every survivor differently. Some effects may be physical and visible on the outside. Others can be emotional, making them invisible to those around them. Bayer is collaborating with six stroke survivors to shine a light on their everyday struggles – on how they cope with what they have already been through, and their fear of it happening all over again.
